Abstract

Presented in this paper are the modeling and simulation of coach HFF6850 manufactured in China with regard to the handling and stability using the software ADAMS, and both the steady state cornering performance and transient state cornering performance of the coach are simulated.

The vehicle model includes leaf spring suspensions front and rear with shackle, and they are represented as equivalent dynamic model in ADAMS in an approximate manner based on a Finite Element Analysis of the leaf springs and related shackles. Nonlinear shock absorber curves are also represented for the front and rear suspensions. The UA tire model is included in the model. The simulation results of steady state cornering performance are validated by experiment, which shows simulation results conform to the experimental results.
