Abstract
To control vehicle emission, Chinese government has done great efforts. This paper firstly introduces those works, especially the clean vehicle action promoted in 1999. According to the test results done in recent years, the paper shows status quo of vehicle emission in China.
Emission standards and laws are the foundation of vehicle emission control. The paper briefly re views the history and system of Chinese national emission standard, and their trends. It also introduces the formulation and revision of fuel standards in China.
The paper finally summarizes some other basic work conducted in recent years in China. They include network construction in vehicle emission testing Lab, type approval for Canister and TWC, and heavy-duty engine emission.
