Abstract
In this paper, considering influence of factors such as, seat and passengers etc., a MDOF model for active suspension is employed. Based on the derived 8DOF model, a controller for this model is also designed by using LQ control theory. Furthermore the appropriate control scheme is selected by testing various performance indexes. The study shows that the satisfied results can be obtained using an appropriate vehicle model, even if the low order controller and the general control strategy are adopted.
