Study on Super Precision Polishing of Automobile Body Mould with Elastic Electrochemical Method

Abstract

In order to solve the difficulty in the mould polishing of automobile body, a new polishing technology of electrochemical super precision grind is put forward in this paper. A set of testing machine tool is developed and manufactured, which has five DOF (degree of freedom): three movements in the x-,y- and z- direction, and two tilting angles around the x- and z-axes. The influences of following factors to surface roughness are analyzed, such as current density, kind and grain of abraders, electrolyte density, loading and unloading of ultrasonic wave and so on. The experimental results show that can gain the mirror face on the surface of work piece whose roughness is Ra0.025ìm using the new technique in the perfect processing parameters. The working efficiency of this technique is 10 times of the one of general grind. It can fit for the polishing of automobile body mould box.
