Abstract
The first document including basic requirements of
OBD II (On Board Diagnostic System) standard was published on 19 th February 1993 by EPA (Environment Protection Agency). OBD II is present in most passenger and utility vehicles in USA. His European change EOBD (European On Board Diagnostic System) is implemented in automotive vehicles in Europe. In Poland coordinated works on assimilation and implementation of the EOBD system began in ITS (Motor Transport Institute).
This paper will talk over EOBD system used in automotive vehicles examined in Poland for the type approval in year 2001 - 2002 and practical manners their diagnostics. This paper will refer an evaluation of the results of an examination of the emissions CO, HC, NOx, these of vehicles.
