Abstract

Worldwide, death and injury on the road is at plague status. Annually more than 700,000 people are killed worldwide in traffic accidents and the number of injured is estimated to exceed 10 million. The costs to every country’s GDP is estimated between one and three percent. These are costs which the world cannot afford.

In my view, improving road safety has to become an international priority activity.
