Abstract
The first part of this lecture presents the state of worldwide anthropogenic and natural emissions for carbon dioxide and the development of the CO2 content in the atmosphere. Further the contribution of the anthropogenic greenhouse gases to the natural greenhouse effect is represented.
The second part of this study shows a forecast of traffic emissions for the components carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and particles for western industrial countries taking Germany as an example.
The development in China as an example for an up coming country also is shown.
The statements of part one and two will lead to the following conclusion:
A significant improvement of the environment's present situation can be achieved if all countries take over the strict exhaust emissions standards of the Western European countries.
