Abstract

In this paper we analyse the results obtained by application of Fuzzy logic in the optimisation phase of the hybrid propulsion vehicle’s support plate design. This Fuzzy analysis is obviously approximate, therefore we have to verify obtained solution stability.

Obtained solution suffers the effect of fuzziness of information and judgements, because several membership functions take into account probabilistic and linguistic variables, not mathematically defined. We think it convenient to deepen our optimisation by a sensitivity analysis for highlighting, by using choice refiners, which analysis elements mainly affect results .

Our method allows to evaluate rightness of our choice in order to individuate the design best solution; in that case the best design solution is the one that suffers, less than others, the effects of possible variation of membership functions and of criteria by which these functions are combined each other. Our research allows to further refine the choice of the best solution and to individuate validity range of already made choices.

We can obtain useful indications on which of the design’s characteristics and variables have to be modified to improve design’s final results.
