ABSTRACT
The e-learning techniques constitute an alternative to the traditional education methods based on chalk and blackboard that are being used in order to transmit items of knowledge and information. E-learning is based not only on progresses achieved through pedagogical and psychological practices but also on ITC technologies- www, multimedia, communication etc. These methods manage to transmit a bigger volume of knowledge under a more legible form, using 3-D representations, graphics, animation or sound. There occur situations when the electronic education stands for the only method of study that is to be used. Mastering the approaches envisaged for computer networks administration represents a relevant example. One of the fundamental operations the network administrator needs to execute is the installation of the operating system within the network. Due to the fact that students do not have administration rights, the only solution is to use products that might simulate these operations. Such a product is called Netess and it contains simulations of operations under Windows NT. The article presents the simulation of Windows XP installation. The support for the present theme is the Viewlet Builder product (shareware version on the Internet), by which there are created films describing the computer systems and software applications by multimedia approaches.
