ABSTRACT
In the paper it is presented the results of the loading with plasma layers for the injection pump pistons of the engines, by an installation with electric arc discharger with a cylindrical catelectrode in a plasma environment. The characteristics of the coated layers are determined by the added material chemical composition (TiN), and by the micro-chemical and micro-structural characteristics of the layer, that are in concordance with the synthesis and coating method used. The hardness obtained was of 900 … 1400 HV0,5, the thickness of the layer was between 1,0 … 20 μm (according with the requirements) and the adherence to the base metal was very good.
