ABSTRACT

The paper presents a new technical solution proposed by the author to design a reliability testing stand used to determine the automobile doors quality and their life cycle. The stand-designed prototype manufactured in the Reliability Laboratory of Road Vehicles Department is also presented. The stand was manufactured with the contribution of the students from the Road Vehicles specialization. The stand is operated by a complete hydraulic system, which assures safe functioning conditions. The stand is also useful for all bodywork types and the test cycle has the possibility to be set by the operator. For the door parts tested with the stand, the stress was calculated using RDM 6 programmer in order to evaluate the limits of their life cycles. The mathematical results offer some technical information to determine the test procedure in order to evaluate the length of the test cycle in accordance with the demands of the reliability experiments. This stand will be used to evaluate the reliability of the automobile door parts in the manufacturing process. Another opportunity offered by the stand is to use it for determining the out of work conditions for the pieces tested.
