ABSTRACT

Then vibrations damping of a suspended mass is made upon the tyre-suspension system, therefore the elastic and damping properties of the tyre and suspension are quite important. The expected properties are obtained using some damper or spring type elements in series or parallel connection. The authors try to outline in this paper that, in the used Laplace transformations, there is a linear dependence between the force and the deformation. This way, both the damper and the spring are analyzed in an unitary manner. Having this as a starting point, one can figure how the Laplace image of the viscoelastic characteristic of an ensemble of dampers and springs is changing in the cases of series connection, parallel one or combinations of these two. By inverting the Laplace transformation, one can obtain the dependence between the force and the deformation for an ensemble of springs and dampers. The paper outlines ways of determining and choosing the necessary viscoelastic couplings so that the tyre-suspension ensemble would have the requested properties. At the end of the paper there is also a calculus example for a tyre-suspension ensemble.
