ABSTRACT
- In the last decade, many industrial and academia teams searched to impose new and effective integrated starter-generators as a first step in the automotive developments. The paper discusses the special demands on electrical drive systems in automotive applications and the selection between the most suitable electrical machines technologies. Starting from the well-known Lundell alternator, a hybrid excitation integrated startergenerator is proposed. The obtainable features are evaluated and the voltage and flux equations are established.
