ABSTRACT:

The paper summarizes the analysis of electrical energy supply and starting systems of automotive vehicles in a new and modern approach. The study concluded with a generally valuable method of dimensioning the electrical energy supply requirements and energy reserve on board of automotive vehicles to maintain "ready to start "the battery state of charging.

The computing model is a result of processing the data picked up in two typical driving cycle, urban and motorway driving .The algorithm and the software developed in the study could be a real help for designers to estimate the electrical energy balance and reserve requirements on board of different type of automotive vehicles.

The paper revealed the main input data necessary to determine easy and accurate the on board electrical energy balance for all category of automotive vehicles.
