ABSTRACT:

Recovering the braking energy at motor vehicles, generally, and at urban buses, specially, is of the greatest importance for the specialists in the motor vehicle field. This fact is required, first of all, by the necessity of decreasing of fuel consumption of the motor vehicles and second-the same as importance or even more important- by the diminishing of pollution in the great urban concentrations.

This paper aims to present some aspects on the recovery of the braking energy, by briefly analyzing the elements that leads to this necessity. It is presented the cost structure in the urban traffic in order to emphasize the lines of action for reducing the fuel consumption and, naturally, the environment pollution.

The conclusion is that one of the ideas for reducing the fuel consumption and the toxicity level is the development of the research on recovering the energy that is produced when the motor vehicle is braking.
