Abstract

ABSTRACT:

The Diesel spray tip penetration and impingement, for D.I. engines has been developed to predict the increases performance for developing new engines. One of the most important phenomena concerned in the behavior of the spray in the combustion chamber, near the wall, and it influence of develop and soot formation, NOx, smoke, CH, specific fuel consummation, etc.

Spray impingement on walls, involves two main physical processes: wall spray development and wall film evolution. Both processes are fully coupled and may influence combustion efficiency and exhaust emission. Impingement of fuel spray on a part of piston wall bowl, is generally happen for the small automotive D.I. diesel engines, and for control the deposit on the combustion chamber, usually is resounded high pressure and injection pilot. One of the most important characteristics is the break-up length that may have great effects on the atomization of the liquid fuel and the formation of the fuel-air mixing. We propose tu study the splash and the break-up on a hot surface.
