Dino Flore is Vice President of technology at Qualcomm Europe, Inc., where he is responsible for the leadership, strategy, development and implementation of multiple technologies, driving their adoption across EMEA. This includes 5G, Wi-Fi, IOT, XR, AI and Automotive related products in Qualcomm’s portfolio.
Based in Barcelona, Spain, Dino joined Qualcomm in July 2003 and has held numerous roles within the organization, which have included the Engineering Services Group and the Qualcomm Standards Group, where he held several leadership roles focused on 3GPP standardization. Additionally, from March 2013 to April 2017, Dino served as chairman of 3GPP RAN, the Technical Specifications Group in 3GPP responsible for the standardization of 4G and 5G access networks. From September 2016 to September 2018 Dino was appointed as first Director General of the newly formed 5G Automotive Association (5GAA), the goal of which is to bridge the automotive and telecom industries to develop next-generation connected mobility solutions.
Prior to Qualcomm, Dino held the role of senior research engineer at Arraycomm, developing algorithms and solutions for smart antennas.
Dino was granted more than 30 US patents in the area of mobile communication. Over the years he has produced multiple technical publications. He has extensively presented and written about cellular technology and how it is transforming society in conferences, articles and interviews with the press. Dino was recently the subject of a profile piece in the Wall Street Journal: The Yeoman Work Behind 5G Wizardry.
Dino received a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, Italy and a Master of Science in Mobile Communications from the EURECOM Institute, France.
